In the span of a few short years beginning around the year 2000, the Warrens, Saint Michael area has become synonymous with new money flowing into the country and for the development in the form of newly constructed tall buildings.
With traditional building-height restrictions in the downtown Bridgetown area and the perseverance of Barbados authorities in not allowing any mass fullscale conversion of Bridgetown's many traditional buildings into tall iron and glassworks, this has led to many companies in Barbados chosing to locate in the Warrens area for their more specially designed taller than average buildings in the country
