Szilvasvarad, located at the western end of the Bukk Mountains, is reckoned as a picturesque holiday and hiking resort with 400 metres above sea level. The Bukk National Park, the Szalajka Valley with its waterfall, the narrow-gauge railway and the woodland museum as well as the Istallosko Cave, the lakes with trout and the Lipizzan Stud are all unforgettable. - The castle built in neo-baroque style is situated in the centre of a 14-acre park. - In the castle: 40 double rooms partly with extra beds, 21 of which are equipped with a bathroom, 19 with a shower (toilet in the corridor). Rooms are partly equipped with colour TV and refrigerator. - In the castle garden: 34 stone houses and 4 bungalows of Finnish style. Two bunk beds and a shower in each stone house, toilet in another building in the park. In the case of apartments of Finnish style each of them has three entrances leading to two rooms. A shower and toilet of common use belong to the rooms.
